Parties to Celebrate the Holidays

Students have enjoyed various types of parties over the last two days at Paine Intermediate.  We have had pancakes, doughnuts, candy, games, and movies!  Ms. Ryan Minisman's class decided to have a different kind of party this year with very special guests.  Two residents of the Golden Living Senior Center visited the party this morning.  The ladies shared experiences from their childhoods with the students who read poems and sang to the visitors.  The students collected small gifts for the residents of Golden Living Senior Center. Many thanks to parent Karen Dardeau for helping with transportation and the party.

Fifth Graders to Begin Using Google Accounts

We are in the process of creating Google Apps accounts for all fifth grade students. A letter will be sent home to each parent about Google Apps.   Parents should sign and return the form if they choose to have an account created for their child. We will begin using these accounts in the computer lab so that fifth grade students will be knowledgeable about this new tool and prepared to use it at HTMS. A great feature of the Google Apps account is that students will receive an email account, as well as a Google drive account. This will allow students to work on a paper or presentation in Google drive, and the file can go from school to home and back. Please return the form by Wednesday, December 19. While this is short notice, it will take time to create the accounts, and winter break is the perfect time to create them. The accounts will be created only for those students who return this form.
