Box Tops Total Announced!

I am so proud of our students, parents and faculty for their support of this fundraising campaign.  Together, our two schools turned in 40,293 box tops this Spring – that’s $4,029.30 in “free money” for our schools!

Combined with the great turn-in we had in the fall, WE HAVE EXCEEDED OUR GOAL, earning $10,584 for our schools!

The winners of the pizza parties are:

K-5- Barnes with 1,415
1st – Herndon with 1,091
2nd – Brumlow with 1,605
3rd – Barker with 849
4th – Hendrick with 779
5thMoore (again!) with 750

Again, thank you so much for all of your help to make this campaign successful.  Keep clipping and saving as we will have another collection next Fall.  Again, congratulations to everyone and Go Huskies!

PI Donates Food to TEAM

Students and staff at Paine Intermediate collected over thirty boxes of food that will be delivered to TEAM, Trussville's local food bank.  Thank you to all who helped us meet our goal of supporting this worthwhile cause.

Box Tops for Education!

Many thanks to the Paine PTO members for trimming, sorting, and counting the thousands of Box Tops sent in by our parents.  Each year our PTO is able to raise thousands of dollars through the Box Tops for Education program.  Each Box Top is worth ten cents, and those Box Tops add up fast!

Communicating Weekly Goals or Targets

Communicating weekly and/or daily goals is one of the most effective strategies we use to engage students in their own learning.  Writing weekly goals has become routine for teachers at Paine Intermediate.  This practice assures that we are all on the "same page" regarding what students are supposed to know or be able to do.  When we communicate these goals to students, they are better able to reach the targets we set.  It is not easy to reach a target when we don't know what the target is!

Report Cards Sent Home Today

Report cards will be sent home today.  Please take some time to review the ratings on the report with your child.  Typically, we want our students to be achieving a "3" for each standard.  A "3" indicates that the student is making good progress and has mastered that standard.  Ratings of 2 or 1 indicate that the student is not making sufficient progress and needs intensive intervention, both at school and home.  Please schedule a conference with your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns.

Please consider donating food for our TEAM Food Drive.  Tomorrow is the last day.  Because of the high demand for food and the low inventory of food items at TEAM, families are able to receive food only one time per month.  Thank you for your support!
