Red Ribbon Week October 21-25

 Oct. 21st -25th 2013

  Paine Intermediate

This week, we are joining thousands of other schools across the USA in an effort to raise awareness about the dangers of using tobacco products, other drugs, & alcohol.  The daily themes for the week revolve around PI’s focus on student leadership; “The Leader in me is drug free!”

Monday- My Future is Bright… I’m Drug Free!

All students are encouraged to wear bright, neon colored clothing as they commit to make good choices & be drug free.  They will also receive a piece of Starburst Candy because we can all “shine bright” as leaders at PI.

Tuesday- Be a Hero…Stay Drug Free!

Students are encouraged to wear anything camouflage colored.  We can all be a HERO (Help, Encourage, & Respect Others) when we are drug free! Students will also receive a Tootsie Roll to remind them that we can be good role models when we make good choices to not do drugs.

Wednesday- Leaders are “Red-y” to Say No to Drugs!

Students are encouraged to wear anything red to show their support for being drug free as it is National Wear Red Day.  They will also receive Red Ribbon stickers to wear for the day to show their commitment to be drug free.

Thursday- Drug Free I Can Be Anything I Want to Be!

Students are encouraged to dress up as their future career choice.  Please wear or bring tennis shoes for PE!  They will receive a red cap eraser to remind them that drugs can “erase their future dreams.”  They will also get a temporary paw print tattoo on Thursday afternoon before they go home.  With parent permission, students can wear the tattoo on Friday for Spirit day.    No one will be allowed to put them on at school; it must be applied at home.  Please note: there will also be no extras for anyone who loses it or forgets it.

Friday- Team Up Against Drugs!

Students are encouraged to wear any husky school spirit shirt or they can wear their favorite Team attire and the Red Paw-Print Temporary Tattoo that they received on Thursday.  Students will also get Smarties to help remind them that “leaders are smart and don’t use drugs.
