4th Grade Electric Villages

Half of our 4th grade classes created electric villages as a culmination to their study of electricity in Science.  Parents, and classes in other grade levels, visited the villages and listened as student shared information about electric circuits.

5th Grade Assembly

Congratulations to the leaders in 5th grade who were recognized at our assembly Friday morning.  Pictured below are Assembly Leaders, Technology Leaders, Music Leaders, Students of the Month, and Safety Patrol students.

PI Breakfast and Snack Food Drive

The Trussville Community participates in the annual Valentine "Love Your Neighbor Food Drive," and the PI family will participate once again this year!! We are asking everyone to bring snacks and breakfast food items to give. The drive will run February 9-13, 2015 to benefit TEAM- Trussville's local food bank.

Update-TCS Bus

Good Morning Paine Intermediate Parents:

We had an elementary school bus get stranded on a sharp turn this morning.  A bus was making a right turn at Queenstown and Pear Street and the right rear wheel went into a small ditch. There were no student or driver injuries.  There were no other vehicles involved.   Students were loaded onto a spare bus and brought to school. 

We are very grateful to all who stopped to offer assistance out there this morning and to those who called to check on everyone.

Trussville's Got Talent

Teacher Book Study

3rd Grade Teachers at Paine Intermediate School have kicked off a voluntary book study on Classroom Management. A group of 3rd grade teachers felt the need to learn more about managing classrooms effectively, so they voluntarily decided to enhance their knowledge base by participating in a book study led by one of our very own teachers, Mrs. Anne Owens!! The group will meet periodically throughout this semester until they complete their reading. 

They held their first discussion session last week and it was so moving and inspiring to see our teachers collaborating, discussing, encouraging one another, learning from one another, smiling, laughing and enjoying being in the company of peers learning best practices for classroom management. Hats off to our 3rd grade teachers! 

Congratulations!!

Congratulations to our very own Beth Bruno. Mrs. Bruno was Board approved today as Trussville City School's Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction! Congratulations Mrs. Bruno, we are so proud of you!!

A Great Time at Parent Math Academy...

What an awesome morning we had during our second Paine Intermediate Parent Math Academy! We were given new information by three of our classroom teachers, and special guest attendance and participation by some of our 4th grade students! We are very pleased with how helpful the sessions are for our parents. Please come out this evening (1-13-15) from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. to attend session two if you were not able to attend today!

Speaker from NASA Shares Expertise

The grandfather of one of our 4th grade students spoke to members of 3rd and 4th grade GATE classes about his job as an Aerospace Engineer for NASA in Huntsville.  GATE students will attend Space Camp next week.

Parent Math Academy

It's time again for our second Parent Math Academy!! Our first session was such a success and parents left with a better understanding of the skills taught. Session two will follow the same format as our initial meeting, but new skills will be presented and taught!

We are looking foward to seeing everyone on Tuesday! Remember, there are two sessions per day with the same information presented (9:00a.m.-10:00a.m. & 5:00p.m.-6:00p.m.).

Students Return
