Academic Vocabulary
Research shows that academic success can be enhanced through school-wide, strategically focused instruction on academic terms that are related to the content being taught. At Paine Intermediate a new academic vocabulary word has been taught and utilized school-wide with our students each "A" day. This "A" day, our students were introduced to the word "grapple." 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Wessel, asks her students develop meaningful sentences with the academic vocabulary word each week and displays them outside of her classroom door.
