Veteran's Day Lunch

Paine Intermediate would like to invite relatives of our students who are Veterans to join us for a special Veteran's Day lunch scheduled on Friday, Nov. 6.  The lunch will be held at your child's regular lunch time.  Feel free to check with your child's teacher about the time that your child's class will go to lunch on that day.  

In order to get a count for our lunchroom of the number of participants in our Veteran's Day lunch on November 6, we will be sending an electronic invitation near the end of October that includes an RSVP for those who are planning to attend.  

Each student who has a relative in the military is asked to send in a copy of a picture of that relative.  Please identify the Paine Intermediate student, the relationship of the Veteran in the picture, and the branch of service (eg. John Doe's grandfather, Navy) on the back of the picture you send.  This wall of pictures is always a big hit with our students, teachers and visiting Veterans!

Parking on Nov. 6:  We ask that all parents and Veterans park at Faith Community Fellowship Church at 7660 Gadsden Hwy, which is in close proximity to Paine Elementary. A shuttle service will run that day from Faith Community Fellowship Church to Paine Intermediate.  This shuttle will drop visitors off at a back door near our lunchroom.

Thanks so much to all of our Specialist teachers (Music, Art, PE, Library, etc.), lunchroom staff, School Resource Officers, custodians and teachers for all the work they put into making this day special for Veterans!  We had 175 Veteran’s attend our lunch last year and are expecting even more this year!  What a great way to pay tribute to these men and women for their service!
