E-learning Days

With winter season approaching, we would like to explain our makeup procedures for a weather day.  Trussville City Schools received a waiver from the State Department of Education allowing e-learning days as weather makeup days.  This means your students will be responsible for completing work online instead of coming to school.  Should we be out due to weather, your student’s teacher will send out an email with instructions on what is to be completed.  Our school uses the website: trussville.edmodo.com to facilitate our e-learning.  Your students are very comfortable with this website and know how to navigate it.  Your students will have 14 calendar days from the date we return to complete the assignments.  Students who do not have internet access at home may use our computer labs upon returning to school.  These labs are open from 7:30-8:00 am each morning.  Our teachers will work with these students to ensure that the work is completed.  Our e-learning lessons will consist of Dreambox, written math problems, daily reading and comprehension work.

We believe this is the best approach for our students and staff to makeup weather days.  If you have any questions about the information provided please contact your student’s teacher.
